BlueZircon: Ceramic Composite High-Temperature Extruder

ErectorBot, Inc., in coordination with The Bolton Agency, its direct marketing and digital development arm, announces the release of the BlueZircon Extruder, a high-temperature, cost-efficient thermoplastic extrusion system purpose-built for large-format additive manufacturing environments.

Engineered around a ceramic-composite thermal shell and a forced superheated air architecture, the BlueZircon extrusion system integrates ducted-fan, pellet-fed extrusion technology to deliver controlled, multi-directional airflow across partitioned thermal zones (patent pending).

This proprietary configuration enables uniform heat distribution throughout the melt path while reducing overall extruder profile and moving mass. The result is substantially increased thermal output, improved melt stability, and enhanced process consistency.

The system is designed to interface directly with ErectorBot Large-Format 3D Gantry Systems and remain fully compatible with alternative motion platforms across the broader additive manufacturing market.

The BlueZircon thermoplastic extruder is offered at a starting price of $7,495 for the standard top-down configuration (Blaster Edition) and $12,495 for the A/B swivel side-mount model (Liberator Edition), supporting advanced multi-axis kinematics.

Building upon and advancing the original Erecto-Struder platform released a decade ago, the BlueZircon Extruder is designed to integrate seamlessly across a full spectrum of End-of-Gantry (EOG) additive and subtractive workflows. These include thermoplastic, resin, concrete, and metal extrusion systems, as well as subtractive tooling such as high-speed milling spindles, laser systems, and 3D scanners.

This work reflects ErectorBot’s mission to deliver adaptable, robust industrial manufacturing systems in an approachable and economically viable format.
